Our
Story

Hi, I’m Maurice, head coach and owner of CrossFit Pulmo. I was born and raised in Chiang Mai, and this city has always been home. From a young age, sport played a central role in my life. I competed on the Thai national track cycling team, where I learned discipline, structure, and what it means to commit fully to long-term development.

After graduating from Lanna International School, I moved to Germany to study physiotherapy. While living there, I continued training and competing, later transitioning into Olympic weightlifting at the national level. That experience shaped how I think about performance. It taught me that progress comes from intelligent programming, consistency, and respecting the process, not chasing shortcuts.

During this time, I was introduced to CrossFit. What started as a way to improve my own fitness quickly became something more. I was drawn to the balance between strength, conditioning, and skill.

In 2021, I returned to Chiang Mai without a fixed plan to open a gym, but with a clear ambition to build something meaningful. I wanted to create an environment where people could train seriously, develop real competence, and feel proud of their progress. As I began coaching locally, I saw a strong interest in Olympic weightlifting and structured training, but very few places offering it with depth, safety, and long-term progression. That gap became the foundation for CrossFit Pulmo.

Why "Pulmo"?

The name Pulmo comes from the Latin word for lungs. Breathing, movement, and effort are the base of everything we do. It reflects our belief that strong fundamentals, repeated with intent, lead to lasting results.

I am supported by a small and dedicated team, including my brother, who runs our kids program. Together, we focus on quality coaching, attention to detail, and creating an environment where people are challenged, supported, and respected.

Who is CrossFit Pulmo for?

CrossFit Pulmo is for people who want to train with purpose. For locals and expats, beginners and experienced athletes alike. We care about long-term progress, real strength, and building a community that shows up and puts in the work.
