Our Story
From Physio to CrossFit
Maurice, Owner and head coach of CrossFit Pulmo, was born and raised in Chiang Mai. A former Thai national track cyclist and German national-level Olympic weightlifting athlete, he later studied physiotherapy in Germany, developing a strong foundation in movement, performance and injury prevention.
After discovering CrossFit, he was drawn to its combination of strength, conditioning, skill development and community.
In 2021, Maurice returned to Chiang Mai with a vision to create a gym built around quality coaching, proper movement and long-term progress. That vision became CrossFit Pulmo, a place where people of all fitness levels can train with purpose, build confidence and become stronger together.

Why "Pulmo"?
Pulmo comes from the Latin word for lungs. Breathing, movement and effort are at the heart of everything we do. The name reflects our belief that strong fundamentals, practised consistently and with intention, lead to lasting results.
CrossFit Pulmo is for anyone who wants to train with purpose. We welcome locals and expats, complete beginners and experienced athletes alike. Whether your goal is to build strength, improve your fitness, learn new skills or compete at a higher level, our focus is on helping you make lasting progress in a supportive community that shows up, works hard and grows together.
